My Name is Dave Moss and for several years now I have been the Director of Technology for Christ, Our Life Ministries in Louisville, Kentucky.
We now (jokingly) call our ministry an underground mega church. Why? Because it is totally run, controlled, and produced from a basement (underground) office/studio in a house and we have over 4000 people from all over the world who regularly come to our websites (mega church) to either watch our Internet TV station or to listen to our Internet Radio station or to watch archived - On Demand - TV Programs / commercials as well as listen to archived - On Demand -Radio Programs. While there they can download any of our audio or video sermons onto their iPods or they can read books in our online library as well as buy books, CDs, or DVDs from our online bookstore. There is even an online monthly newsletter that they can subscribe to. Donations can be collected on-line.

The Internet reaches millions of people all around the world. It gives Christians the opportunity to proclaim and to display the gospel of good news to the world. Not only can it be used as a informational tool for people in your congregation but it can be used as an outreach. There are so many spiritually hungry people in the World who won't go to a church building for various reasons, or can't go to a church because they are home bound. An Internet ministry can reach many people who are in a spiritual vacuum.
TV and Radio ministries can reach millions of people, but there are some drawbacks with this kind of ministry. TV and Radio ministries are very expensive. An Internet ministry costs a small fraction compared to that of a TV or Radio ministry. If your TV or Radio program airs at a time when people are not at home, then your message is not received by them. With an Internet ministry people can watch, listen or read about your programs anytime of the day or night. They can come back as much as they like until it "sinks in", unlike a TV or Radio program, which is usually played one time only.
The Internet is a great medium to be used for the glory of God. Physical distance is no longer a boundary. Connections with people can be made that would not have been possible before. Intercessors can join to pray together from all over the world. Churches can share with each other and with those who want to know the Lord.
TV, Radio, and the Internet can all work together as a total ministry outreach program.
Believe me when it comes to the internet putting up a website is just the tip of the iceberg. PCs, Macs, iPods, MP3 players, PDAs, Cell phones can all display and play the content from your website. But all these devices take different formatting and setup. Then there is audio and video streaming, Wi-Fi, Blogs, You Tube, My Space, Google, and RSS feeds. What is all this stuff? How does it work? How can a small ministry have the time and resources to keep up with it all?
